 COERVER® COACHING was created in 1984 by Alfred Galustian, International Director, and Charlie Cooke, Director the Americas, and inspired by player development ideas first promoted in the late 1960s by the Dutch coach Weil Coerver.
 In a global climate of defensive play, the goal was to improve individual skills and produce better attacking players and teams and more exciting and effective play. Up to that time it was accepted that great players were innately gifted and that their skills were beyond the average player.
However, studies showed that this assumption was wrong and that many of the great players’ 1 v 1 moves and control skills could be broken down and taught to even the youngest players. Since 1984, COERVER® COACHING has developed from the handful of moves of the great players into a comprehensive training program that encompasses all aspects of the modern game. It is now widely ackowledeged as “The # 1 Soccer Skills Teaching Method” with a worldwide network of Player Camps and Coaches Schools featuring educational DVDs, books and seminars and clinics.
